"Wala akong pakialam sa Iniisip mo!" De Lima tells Duterte over SONA rant

“Kung karamihan sa mga nasa Kamara, nagpalakpakan para sumipsip sa Pangulo, sigurado ako, marami sa ating mga kababayan ang napailing at napayuko sa kahihiyan dahil sa mga pinagsasabi ni Duterte,” De Lima said.

Senator Leila de Lima on Tuesday hit back at President Rodrigo Duterte after the chief executive attacked her credibility during the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

“I don’t care if Duterte, in his twisted and greatly prejudiced mind, thinks I have no credibility. What matters are the sentiments and opinions of decent and enlightened men and women. Truth is on my side. I am innocent,” De Lima said in a statement.
During his second SONA, Duterte lashed out at his critics and human rights groups questioning his administration’s war on drugs.

Duterte said he wonders why some groups were giving weight to the views of De Lima, who has repeatedly condemned the alleged extrajudicial killings being linked to Duterte's drug war.
“Yung binibigyan ninyo ng importansiya si De Lima. You all know, you were all here. You conducted the investigation. You heard the witnesses. You saw the videos. Is she a credible woman? Can she be a moral person? Puro kayo drama diyan,” Duterte said.

Duterte made the remark days after a delegation from the European Parliament paid De Lima a visit in her detention facility. Just recently, a foreign group was barred from visiting De Lima.
De Lima said she could ask the same questions of Duterte.

“Let me return the favor and ask Duterte: Do you think you even have the moral values and credible standing, after that garbage of a speech you have unloaded before us and the foreign diplomatic corps?” she said.

“Wala ka nang tinirang kahihiyan para sa ating bayan sa harap ng buong mundo. Tila yata ang iyong sadya ay walanghiyain nang walang katapusan ang Pilipinas sa ibang bansa. Wala ka nang ginawa kundi bastusin ang Pilipinas at ang mga Pilipino. Ikaw na ang pinakamalaking traydor sa ating bayan,” De Lima added.

‘Ramblings of a madman’

De Lima downplayed Duterte’s two-hour SONA to mere “verbal abuse and pointless ramblings of a madman.”

De Lima said Duterte failed to give a report on his government’s accomplishments during his first year in office, as well as his plans for the rest of his term.
Instead, the senator said, the SONA became another venue to attack his critics.

De Lima also called out Duterte for failing to address the Chinese occupation of Philippine territories in the West Philippine Sea.
“He masks his miserable and spineless foreign policy towards China by digging up from our past the United States’ refusal to return the Balangiga bells, while failing to address the elephant in the room, China’s continued invasion and occupation of our territories in the West Philippine Sea,” she said.
